PhD education and other activities
The DRSTP organizes several activities. Special PhD courses are offered within the DRSTP in both themes. These courses are primarily intended for PhD students. Students are expected to attend these schools at least twice during their appointment, preferably in the first two years. Postdocs, advanced Master’s students, as well as graduate students from foreign countries are also welcome.

PhD SCHOOLS
Theme 1 • THEP
Particle physics, cosmology, quantum gravity and string theory
Theme 2 • SPTCM
Quantum matter, quantum information, soft condensed matter and biophysics.

CONFERENCES
PhD DAY
The PhD Day is an annual fall event organized by members of the PHD Student Council and is part of the educational program for PhD students. The PhD Day is aimed at exchanging ideas, inviting former PhD students to discuss career options, presenting scientific talks and discussing recent trends in theoretical physics.
SYMPOSIUM TRENDS IN THEORY
Every two years the DRSTP organizes the symposium Trends in Theory.
This symposium is part of the educational program for our PhD students who are encouraged to present a poster on this occasion. The symposium is an opportunity for all DRSTP members to meet and share their ideas on recent developments in theoretical physics.

SEMINAR
NATIONAL SEMINAR THEORETICAL HIGH ENERGY PHYSICS
The DRSTP coordinates the National Seminar Theoretical High-Energy Physics, which takes place several times per year at participation universities.

DELTA ITP
ADVANCED TOPICS IN THEORETICAL PHYSICS
The DRSTP coordinates the MSc. courses “Advanced Topics in Theoretical Physics” that were initiated by the DELTA ITP (https://www.d-itp.nl)
